I Think I missed my Court Date, What do I do ?

1: Several things happen when you fail to appear for a required court date, the Judge usually issues a warrant or capias for your arrest with a NEW bond amount stated on it which means that you will have to post this new bond amount when you get arrested, if you were out on Bail with a bondsman that bail bond would most likely have been forfeited or estreated which means that the bondsman has approximately 60 days to resolve the matter before the bond must be paid in full to the Court.

2: Are you out on bond with a bail bondsman ? if so, contact them immediately and let them know that you are not running, this is very important, most bail bondsmen have people miss court on them and as long as the defendant (you) don't try to avoid them or run, the bondsman will usually try to help you resolve the problem by getting you a new court date and having your original bond reinstated and the warrant for your arrest recalled, if your bond can't be reinstated the bondsman can usually do a walk through or expedited bond with you, you will be required to pay the bond fee for this new bond but your warrant will be taken care of.

4: What is a walk through or expedited bond ? this is where your bond is posted at the jail at the same time you are taken in to the jail, the jail is made aware that your bond is being posted and they "walk you through" the booking process instead of putting you in a holding cell, a walk through or expedited bond usually takes about 2 or 3 hours where as a regular bond normally takes about 6 to 8 hours to process.
